“In the Tarayasujan police station area of Kushinagar district, Uttar Pradesh, an incident occurred on April 10, 2026, that has shaken the conscience of the entire society. A mere 5-year-old innocent girl, studying in a primary school, was allegedly raped by the school manager (or principal), Naimuddin. The girl returned home from school in a blood-soaked condition. Her condition was so serious that doctors also suspected sexual assault. Currently, the girl is undergoing treatment at Kushinagar Medical College, and the police have arrested the accused, Naimuddin. An FIR has been registered, which also includes serious allegations against other teachers/principals of the school.
This incident is not just a criminal act. It raises a major question — when the perpetrator of exploitation in a sacred place like a school, where children go with the hope of knowledge and safety, is the school manager himself, where is society heading?
Islamic Criticism: Violence and Lust under the Guise of Religion
The saddest aspect of this incident is that the accused, a man named Naimuddin, appears to belong to an Islamic background. Incidents of sexual exploitation of children, especially girls, in Islam keep coming to light repeatedly across the world. According to many critics, the descriptions in the Quran and Hadith regarding Aisha’s age (marriage at 6 and consummation at 9) provide legitimacy to child sexual abuse. This “Sunnah” of Prophet Muhammad is still considered ideal by some, and the result can be seen in such heinous crimes.
Individuals like Naimuddin work among children in schools. Do the teachings of Islam teach them that a 5-year-old girl can be “marriageable” or an “object of desire”? Quranic verses (such as Surah Ahzab 33:50 or other verses related to marriage) that broadly permit sexual relations clash with modern ethics and child rights. Practices in Islam like Mut’ah (temporary marriage) or permitting relations with slave girls have promoted such lustfulness.
This is not the first incident. In India, there have been many cases of exploitation of children (especially girls) in madrasas or Islamic schools. When the religion itself encourages child marriage and the Prophet’s biography cites physical relations with a 9-year-old girl as a “perfect example,” the roots of such crimes become strong in society.
Role of Society and Media
Mainstream media often tries to hide the name and religion of the accused in such cases, but some sites reveal the truth. In this incident, the girl’s condition is critical, and her family is in shock. An innocent girl who went to school to study has had her life changed forever.
While criticizing Islam, it is necessary to say that until the Muslim community questions those teachings in their religious books that relegate women and children to second-class status, such incidents will not stop.
· Teachings of Hijab and segregation for women
· Permission for polygamy and sexual rights for men
Together, these create an environment where the exploitation of the vulnerable becomes easy.
What lessons should be learned?
1. Strict monitoring in schools, especially in institutions like private schools or madrasas.
2. Strict enforcement of child protection laws (POCSO) and punishment including the death penalty for the guilty.
3. Open criticism of Islamic teachings so that the new generation can be free from superstition.
The blood of a 5-year-old girl has stained the school walls. This is not just a crime by Naimuddin, but also a crime of those religious mentalities that consider children as “objects.”
May this innocent girl get justice.
May her family get immediate help and protection.
And may society learn from this incident to rise above blind faith and religious darkness and prioritize humanity.
