Genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh: UN Exposes the Dark Truth of Yunus Regime – Why is India Still Silent?

Genocide of Hindus in Bangladesh: UN Exposes the Dark Truth of Yunus Regime – Why is India Still Silent?

On 28 November 2025, at the 18th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council’s ‘Forum on Minority Issues’, Bangladeshi Hindu rights activist Dipan Mitra presented documented evidence of over 1,000 cases proving that since 5 August 2024, a systematic ethnic cleansing of Hindus is underway in Bangladesh– and the interim government headed by Muhammad Yunus is not just silently complicit, but actively facilitating it.

Horrific statistics from the past year (submitted by Dipan Mitra to the UN)

  1. 183+ Hindus murdered
  2.  219 Hindu women raped
  3. 78 Hindu and Buddhist girls forcibly converted to Islam
  4.  Hundreds of temples and monasteries destroyed, thousands of homes and businesses looted and burned
  5.  176 Hindu teachers, over 100 Hindu police officers, and dozens of senior officials sacked
  6.  Zero Hindu recruitment in police and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)

 Yunus Regime’s Open Islamist Agenda

Dipan Mitra told OpIndia unequivocally:

“Yunus is working hand-in-glove with Jamaat-e-Islami and Islamist groups to turn Bangladesh into an Islamic state. His goal is to bring Jamaat to power in the next election. Awami League is already being prepared for a ban; now efforts are on to sideline the BNP as well.”

These are not conspiracy theories – the facts scream:

  •  The banned Jamaat-e-Islami has been legitimised again
  •  Hundreds of Islamist terrorists were freed from jails (70 terrorists still at large)
  •  ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhuji has been rotting in jail for over a year on fabricated sedition charges – solely because he spoke up against atrocities on Hindus
  •  Renowned Baul singer Rahul Sarkar was arrested on “blasphemy” charges; mobs openly chanted “Catch Bauls one by one and slaughter them”

Massacre of Indigenous People in Chittagong Hill Tracts

Islamist settlers and the Bangladesh army jointly attacked indigenous hill tribes:

  •  8 tribals killed, over 100 injured
  •  175 shops and more than 200 businesses burned
  •  Looting and vandalism at the Buddhist Maitri Vihar monastery

India is the Last Hope – Yet Remains Silent

Dipan Mitra’s heartbreaking appeal:

“India is our last hope. Afghanistan was once Hindu-Buddhist, Hindus in Pakistan are barely surviving – Bangladesh is now heading the same way. If India stays silent now, it will be too late.”

Yet the bitter truth is that every time Yunus accuses India and Indian media of “spreading propaganda”, there is no strong rebuttal from the Indian government. No sharp statement, no advocacy for Bangladeshi Hindus on any international stage.

 The Final Question

Is the Government of India waiting for the complete annihilation of Bangladesh’s Hindu population before taking action?

Or will the tired old line of “all sides should exercise restraint” remain our final foreign policy?

What is happening in Bangladesh is not just an “internal matter”. It is the next genocide of Hindus in our neighbourhood.

If we stay silent today, tomorrow no one will ask why 3,900 Indian soldiers were martyred in 1971 to liberate Bangladesh.

Time is running out.

Will India wake up – or remain ashamed forever?
