Friday in the Mosque: Sermon on Trust in Allah, Then the Human Collection Plate

The Sermon: “Only Allah Provides, Ask Only Him”

Before the Friday prayer, the Imam delivered a long, emotional sermon:

“Have complete faith in Allah. Whatever anyone gets in this world comes only from Allah. Even if the salt in your house runs out, ask Allah for it – don’t ask any human. Allah alone is the Provider (Razzaq). There is no giver except Him. We are all beggars at His door.”

People kept nodding. “Ameen, Ameen” echoed everywhere. Everyone felt it was a very pure and spiritual sermon.

Then the Azaan was called, the official Khutba was read, and the two obligatory rak’ahs of Jummah were offered.

And the moment the salam was turned…

 The Scene Instantly Flipped

The very Imam who had just declared “There is no giver except Allah” – his assistants immediately picked up caps and long scarves and started moving among the worshippers.

  •  One person started collecting for “mosque construction” (from humans, not Allah).
  •  Another for the Imam’s salary (again from humans).
  •  A third for electricity bills, water tank, carpets – separate scarf for every expense.

And the biggest irony? The Imam didn’t even raise his hands for the post-prayer dua until every scarf and cap was placed right beside him.

As soon as the last collection was kept there, the Imam glanced sideways, saw the “green signal,” instantly raised his hands on his own, and the followers behind also raised their hands for dua.

And in the dua he prayed again:

“O Allah! Only You are the Provider, only You give, there is no giver besides You…”

Five minutes earlier he was saying one thing, now the exact opposite was happening in practice.

They give a sermon about asking only Allah, then use Allah’s name to empty your pockets.

This is not a new sight. We see it every Friday. Today someone just wrote it openly.

The Real Truth

  •  If they truly believe Allah is the sole Provider, then Allah will also pay the Imam’s salary and build the mosque Himself.
  • Then why is the “donation shop” set up every single Friday immediately after prayer?
  •  Why is the dua deliberately delayed until the collection is complete?

This is the business of religion.

Using Allah’s name and the drama of “complete trust in Allah,” they exploit people’s emotions and extract money without doing any real work.

And us?

Every Friday we happily drop 10, 20, 50, 100 rupees into their bags and prove that we are still ready to be fooled.

If you really have trust in Allah, then next Friday, when you see those scarves and caps, just smile and keep your hand on your pocket.

Do just that much, and this entire hypocrisy will collapse on its own.

Because the day people stop giving, that very same “Only Allah provides” sermon will change overnight.

The next Friday you’ll probably hear a new sermon: “A person must work hard and earn with his own hands.”
